Adventures with Arduino Part 26

 

Following on from a much older post. I have found some code that lights up a series of LEDs and counts in binary 0 – 15

One of my original projects was to connect a series of LEDs to the Arduino.  This was documented in Part 2 of this series.  This project was later soldered up, this was documented in Part 6 of this series.

I found a tutorial here which explains how to count in binary but before it does that it goes through some more basic tasks first.

For those of you who are not familar with binary, the numbers 1 – 15 are represented as follows

 

 1  0001
 2  0010
 3  0011
 4  0100
 5  0101
 6  0110
 7  0111
 8  1000
 9  1001
 10  1010
 11  1011
 12  1100
 13  1101
 14  1110
 15  1111

This will be covered at your school as part of the National Curriculum in Computer Science, so as your teacher for more information OR ask at your local Tech jam / Raspberry Pi jam type event.
