I am in the process of soldering up a piece of strip / vero board so that it can house an arduino nano, 16×2 lcd display as well as support components, this can then hopefully be used for some rapid development later on.
Still got a few things to do here LCD works, I just need to connect the backlight pins to the 5v & GND on the right hand side Then connect the data pins to the Arduino. This is connected via 16way 5.24mm socket headers. These are the ideal size as the Arduino has 15 pins on each side.
This is rather extreme hardware hacking but I am just trying to create a proof of concept at the moment.
