A few weeks ago I posted a video showing a 555 timer linked to a 4017 BE decade counter and 4 LEDs. I have now moved the 4017BE part of the circuit to a bigger breadboard, meaning it can be expanded to 10 LEDs.
I expected this to take ages, in fact apart from one slight problem, I managed to do this in about 1/2 hour. once you start putting lots of jumper wires in a breadboard it starts to look complex.
This is now working, one look at the wiring and you wonder how the heck that is possible. But it is far easier with these male to male jump leads. So I am hopefully getting some more.
Anyway what to actually do with this. ???

Circuit details (updated 17/2/2014)
The 555 timer circuit looks like
Ok previous issue with the capacitor is FIXED. Remember the LED has a flat side that goes towards -ve or 0v.
555 timer pin outs.
For the 4017
Circuit diagram in Fritzing will be here shortly (hopefully).
