RetroPie allows you to turn your Raspberry Pi, ODroid C1/C2, or PC into a retro-gaming machine. I have been experimenting with this. I seem to have got further than my previous attempt.
I have added a few zx spectrum games, which load, but I can’t play, need to map the game controller to the keyboard mapping properly so that games can be played via my game controller.
I have also found free ROMS for custom games of Pong and PacMan for the SNES. So far I can play these fine.
Retro Pi also supports games such as Doom and Minecraft Pi. Early days yet but probably good enough to demo at a future jam. There is interest in this.
The system works really well. I have identified a need for a USB SNES controller as I this has better support as do other official console controllers. So something for my shopping list.
Next Jam 12th October to include discussion on VPNs, more details in a post later this week.
Happy hacking in the meantime.
