South Devon Tech Jam : Write up – October 2019
The jam went really well. We had 3 young people attending, who are among our regulars. They were busy with their own projects an hour of code activity. Paul B undertook some more work on the AIY kit, we are much further forward on this now. We are making progress.
We also had a visit from Ash Rangasamy (TorbayCDT) who will be meeting with Lucy and myself at some point to discuss funding for the jam. This is again a big step forward.
We also had a talk on VPN (Virtual Private Networks) From Giles Coochey. This was really interesting and went through what VPNs are and included a demonstration, using Raspberry Pis, which gave us a look at what the packets look like going across a VPN.
Lucy has also loaned me a USB SNES controller which seems to be working really nicely with RetroPi so hopefully I can demo this next month.
A few photos from the event.
The next Jam is Saturday November 9th. Hopefully more of the same and perhaps see if we can get a more projects up and running. Hope to see more people at the jam showcasing interesting projects and collaborating to solve problems, fix bugs and make enhancements to existing projects.
